Hey guys! ClevverTV here and we've got breaking news regarding Apple's official announcement of the highly anticipated iPhone 5 which will be available for preorder on September 14th! Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, Philip Schiller, prefaced today's reveal by saying quote "Each year we set a new bar with a new iPhone, and we're going to do that again today." The newest addition to the Apple family, made entirely out of glass and aluminum, is the thinnest phone ever made by the company, measuring in at a mere 7.6mm thick! That makes this a whopping 18 percent thinner and TWENTY percent lighter than the iPhone 4S --- weighing approximately 112 grams. As if that's not enough --- the new version features a whopping 4-inch Retina display with a 16 to 9 aspect ratio designed for optimum viewing. And with this bigger display comes more visibility --- adding an additional 5th row of icons to the home screen as well as providing more visible email and web space above the virtual keyboard. Now onto to the upgrades for our most-used features --- the first feature announcement was the introduction of what they refer to as "Ultrafast wireless technology" meaning that the iPhone 5 will have 4G LTE capabilities with network support in the U.S. from Sprint, AT&T, and Verizon. It will also offer 1080p video capabilities with improved stabilization AND you can now even take photos while you're shooting video. And in terms of social media --- with the added Facebook and Twitter features in the Notification center, users can now tweet from whatever app they are using. Now the most surprising alteration touched on in the big announcement was Apple's choosing to retire their familiar 30-pin charger that has become synonymous with the iPod and iPhone and debut the new Lightning adapter that features a more "adaptive interface" that will make it more compatible with products from companies such as Bose and JBL. Users will still be able to use their 30-pin chargers on the new phone but it will require the use of an adapter. So what do you guys think of Apple's newest device? Will you be upgrading to the iPhone 5 when it gets released? Or are these new features just not doing it for you?
