Demolition AfE Frankfurt 2014

Today the "Elfenbein" - "Ivory" has fallen. Now you see it, now you don't. A matter of seconds has changed the landscape and view for ever.

The former Frankfurt university building (AfE) has been demolished today 2nd February 2014 at 10:00 am CET with a big blast. Presumably this should be the tallest building ever blown in Europe. The building was part of the Frankfurt university campus of the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Bockenheim and until 2013 housed the offices and seminar rooms of the departments of Social Sciences and Education.

Thousand of spectators witnessed this historic event. Me too among them.
